Story
1. 1. High
up in the tallest tree in the middle of the jungle, there lived an Orangutan
and his mother. They were happy as can be. Every day they spent together, having
lots of fun! Swinging through vines and climbing on the branches; it was how
they loved to spend their time.
That was until...
2. 2. rumbling had begun. For weeks and weeks,
the rumbling would not give in. It would shake all the branches and would make
the Orangutans home tremble. Then one day his mother exclaimed “We have move far
away from this place!”
3. 3. Orangutan was upset, he didn’t want
to move, but the rumbling got louder. They had to leave quick. Leaping through
the vines, his mother was swinging faster than ever before, but orangutan was tired.
His arms aching and his finger were sore. He tried but couldn’t keep up and then
he forgot…
4. He couldn’t remember which way his mother turned next. Was it past the river or up the hill? Orangutan was worried, he didn’t know where to go. And so, he cried “Where are you mother, I don’t want to be alone!”. He decided he had to go back to the only place he knew…
5. Orangutan returned to his home, but he was confused. The hanging vines he used to play on with his mother were gone. The branches disappeared and all that was left were stumps the ground. “This is because of the rumbling sound!!” Orangutan yelled. All the other animals had fled. He was alone.
But then suddenly…
6. 6. He heard a huge “OUUUCHHHH!”. Orangutan looked over to see a rhino who seemed like he needed some help. “Are you okay?” Orangutan asked. “No, I’m not, my favourite horn is gone!” Rhino said with despair. “Don’t worry rhino, I can help!”
7. 7. Orangutan gathered some branches and twine. He built a new horn for rhino to wear.
“Could you help me find my mother, I don’t
know where to begin.” Orangutan said.
“Let’s go this way! Follow me.” Rhino announced.
8. 8. And so they went on an adventure through what was left of the jungle. Until they heard
a squark from a hornbill up above.
“Hey down there! I couldn’t help but overhear, I
know where your mother went”
“Please tell me! I’d do anything to find my mother
again” Orangutan shouted to the bird.
9. “I will find your mother if you build a trap to help me catch insects so I can fly all day and feast at night!” Hornbill squawked.
so
9. And so, Orangutan took some leaves and tree sap to create a well-thought-out trap. Hornbill incredibly grateful went on to help Orangutan find his mother.
10. “She went past this river over the bridge!” Hornbill squeaked. But no bridge was there. All that remained were broken twigs and leaves. “I will never find my mother again” Orangutan sighed.
All of a sudden there a rumble, but a
different kind of rumble. It was more of a grumble.
11 11. It
was an elephant. He was running into the river. “Hello there, Orangutan, jump
on my back and you be able to join your mother!” Orangutan leaped on to the
back of the elephant and shouted to all his new friends. “Thank you for helping
on my journey. I will see you soon, but I have to see my mother again”
1 12. Past the river, he was safe again. And there he saw his mother up in a towering tree looking worried. “Mother I have found you! I’m sorry I left you alone” His mother open her arms wide and exclaimed “As song as you here with me
