Children's Book- Orangutan Development

 Brainstorming saying and words to go into the book

My initial idea is to make the book surrounding around the orangutans plan to fit in with different animals in the borneo forest. What first made me think of this idea because of personal experience of trying to fit in. I want this story to follow the orangutans journey of self acceptance and understanding that he can be special too. 

Most children's books use rhyming couplets throughout so throughout this negotiated programme I will continue to develop sayings and verses that go with the story and are fun and interesting to say. 

I wanted to create animals that are native in Borneo and have special features and bright colours that the Orangutan is attracted to. 

Here are some examples of the orangutans I've been developing for this project. For a children's book I definitely want to use bright colours and fun textures in the character design of the Orangutan. 

Heres the orangutan in the Borneo Forest background which I have been developing. The light blue and green colours really allow the orangutan to stand out and for the children reading the book to engage with the character.
